The girls were eating lunch, thinking about the ice cream they had eaten the night before.
E: When you make ice cream, you get ice and stir it up to real cold water, and then mix it with cream.
M: (thinking about what E had said) No, daddy used a spoon.
I had mentioned to E that everyone has a birthstone that is determined by the month they were born in. She was very hopeful that hers would be pink. We were looking at a chart online that showed the different birthstones, and she asked which one was hers. I pointed it out, and with such disappointment, she said, "The orange one? Shoot, dawg."

Saturday morning chat
E: What's this called?
Me: That part of your leg is called your thigh.
E: Princesses don't have thighs.
Me: Yes, they do.
E: Well, they're smaller than ours.
